Mabatho SeeisoMabatho Seeiso: Independent Trustee
Qualifications: Hons (Economics and Marketing) University of Wales, Aberystwyth College, Hons (Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management) University of Cape Town and an MBA from Hull University.  
 
Mabatho joined the Financial Services Industry in January 2001. Prior to that she was working in the oil industry as a new business development manager for Total SA in historically disadvantaged communities. Her first financial services job was in private equity as an Assistant Portfolio Manager for Infrastructure Investments at Old Mutual Asset Management. In 2003 she joined Cadiz Asset Management and was subsequently made a Director and Head of Institutional Business Development and Marketing until March 2007. She has been involved in financial services as an independent professional since 2008. Her first board appointment was as an independent investment committee member for Rand Mutual Assurance. She has since served on various types of funds in the industry including the Eskom Pension and Provident Fund, where she was also the chair of the Strategic Investment Committee and the National Treasury Jobs Fund where she was an independent investment committee member. She currently still serves as a professional trustee or independent investment committee member or independent Chairperson on various funds including impact investment funds. She also has experience serving on Company Boards. She is a Director of the Transformation Action Forum, an asset owner led initiative to transform the financial services industry. She is also a former member of the advisory committee of the Southern African Pension Fund Investment Forum. Among her experience is working as a management consultant for 5 years and she has more than 10 years experience in professional mentoring of women.
Rhonda StewardRhonda Steward: Independent Trustee

Rhonda Stewart is a specialist in the structure, strategy and investment governance of Funds. Apart from her many roles as an independent Trustee over the last twenty years, she is the CEO of Stratfund, a boutique consultancy that provides market intelligence, as well as independent fund and service provider assessments to Retirement Funds, Insurers and Sovereign funds in Sub – Saharan Africa.
This followed her first two decades in the institutional investment markets, where she worked initially as an equity trader, analyst and portfolio manager, prior to an appointment as Senior Director of International Investments at a firm of Consultants and Actuaries and then as Chief Investment Strategist at South Africa’s largest Multi Manager.
She was appointed as a Trustee of the Mines 1970 Fund in February 2021 and became Chair of the Benefits Committee in 2023.  Rhonda is a strong proponent of the necessity to trace stranded assets and return them to their rightful owners.
Sisa MayekisoSisa Mayekiso: Independent Trustee

Sisa Mayekiso is the Founder & Managing Director of Volantis Capital a boutique Investment Management firm.  He is a qualified Chartered Accountant and a CFA Charter Holder, with extensive experience in Banking, Insurance & Investment Industry gained over 18 years in the industry.In addition to his Responsibilities as Trustee on the 190’s Mines Preservation Funds Sisa currently serves as an independent non-executive director at the Export Credit Insurance Corporation of South Africa (ECIC), where he serves as the Chairperson of the Finance, Investment & Credit Insurance Committee. Sisa also is the Lead Independent Director at SAMRO and is Chairperson of the SAMRO Retirement Annuity Fund.
Lungani SibiyaLungani Sibiya: Independent Trustee

Lungani Sibiya is an experienced Investment Multi-Manager currently working at Eskom Pension and Provident Fund. With a background in asset manager research, selection, portfolio optimization, and performance monitoring.  Lungani also serves as the Member Board of Trustees (Investment Committee Chairman) at Mines 1970 Unclaimed Benefits Preservation Pension Fund and Provident Fund.
 
Lungani has a strong foundation in investments, with previous roles at companies such as Alexander Forbes, Metropolitan Asset Managers, and Novare.  Lungani holds degrees in Mathematical Statistics, Investment Analysis, and Portfolio Management, as well as a certification from Wits Business School in Managing and Leading People.
